Founder

Kristen is the younger sister of Annie, for whom the organization is named. Following her own family’s tragedy and loss of Annie, Kristen founded Annie & Millie’s place and redirected her passion for helping others by transforming her own story of tragedy into hope and help. Kristen’s has more than 30 years of compassion-led career experience in congregationally based youth and family ministry, program development and volunteer management. Now as the leader of Annie & Millie’s place she taps into her understanding of moving large groups for a common purpose and goal. Her relational approach to systems of care uniquely equips Kristen to connect the dots between people in need, services provided and aids in identifying gaps in services. Her creative approach inspires others to seek solutions as the flip-side of identifying problems.

Kristen has a B.A. in Theology from Valparaiso University in Indiana and a M.A. in Children, Youth and Family Ministry from Luther Seminary in MN. She is a pet-parent to a very loved English Bulldog.

Executive Director

Cliff Cullen is the Executive Director of Annie & Millie's Place, where he is honored to lead an organization dedicated to keeping people and pets together when it matters most. For Cliff, this work is rooted in a simple belief: no one should have to lose a beloved companion animal because they are experiencing homelessness.

With almost 15 years of nonprofit leadership and fundraising experience, Cliff loves building relationships and bringing people together around a common purpose. He believes the best solutions come through collaboration, and he is passionate about connecting donors, professionals, community partners, and volunteers to help people and pets stay together during life's most challenging moments.

When he's not working, Cliff enjoys reading, collecting vinyl records, fishing, exploring Colorado with his wife, Marjorie, and spending time with their two rescue cats, Juniper and Dahlia, along with their ever-growing family of rescued pets.

Program Director

Andy is the Program Director for Annie & Millie's Place. He has been working with the unhoused population since 1992 when he took his first volunteer position at a shelter in Los Angeles. Compassion and a drive to see people succeed have shaped his path ever since.

After 25 years working in the corporate world, Andy and his family moved to Longmont where he began a second career in human services. He'll tell you his greatest accomplishments have been in collaboration with others. He also holds firmly to the belief that there's more good in the world than bad as long as you are open to it.

When he is not working he is either out seeking live music or cooking at home. Andy sits on the board as Treasurer of INMI (Interfaith Network for Mental Illness) bringing together individuals from all spiritual, religious, and secular backgrounds to promote mental health awareness and is also Vice President of the Left Hand Artist Group (LHAG), a non-profit dedicated to to building a community of arts, music and friendship.
